Chris Bishop was born in London in 1951. After a successful career as a Chartered Surveyor, he retired to concentrate on writing, combining this with his lifelong interest in history.

He is the author of a series entitled The Shadow of the Raven, which is set at the time of Alfred the Great. Book One, Blood and Destiny was published in 2017, Book Two, The Warrior with the Pierced Heart in 2018, The Final Reckoning in 2019, Bloodlines in 2021 and The Prodigal Son in 2023. His latest book, Oscar’s Tale, is not part of the series and was released at the end of 2023.

His other interests are travel, windsurfing and fly fishing.
