Paul Clammer

Paul Clammer

28/06/2026 by Paul Clammer

I’m a writer and editor. I spent 20 years writing guidebooks for Lonely Planet and Bradt Travel Guides, and by day I’m now the editor for an Antarctic travel website.

My first history book, ‘Black Crown: Henry Christophe, the Haitian Revolution and the Caribbean’s Forgotten Kingdom’ was published in 2023 by Hurst Publishers. It was based on deep archival research in the UK, the USA and the Caribbean, as well as field work carried out in Haiti during a year spent living in Port-au-Prince.

As well as Haiti, I’ve lived and worked in Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon and Fiji. Home is now Bristol in the west of England, with my partner and the street cat we rescued from the Fes medina.

Published works:
