Patrick worked in advertising with some of the most globally recognised agencies and brands.  Always fascinated by history, particularly military history, and spurred on by two lockdowns, he took to writing stories.

His debut WW2 aviation thrillers launched on the 16th December 2022 with ‘The Lightning and The Few,’ the story of Jox McNabb, a Scottish schoolboy who earns his wings defending his country in its hour of need. As of June 2026 the series extends to seven books detailing Jox’s very long war:

 Book 2 – ‘The Raiders and the Cross’ sees Jox face the furnace of the Blitz and the siege of Malta. Book 3 – The Maple and the Blue’ sees him involved with the Dieppe raid, then head to the Mediterranean. Book 4 – ‘The Vulcan and the Straits’ covers Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa then Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily. Book 5 – ‘The Wire and the Lines’ sees Jox as a prisoner of war in Italy. He must find a way to rejoin the war. Book 6 – ‘The Rapids and the Abbey’ covers the Italian campaign: Volturno, Rapido, Anzio and Monte Cassino Book 7 – ‘The Hunters and the Wrath’ D-Day is finally here and then the British Isles must face the dreaded Doodlebug.

Patrick also has a paranormal military thriller published, called ‘The Brookwood Boys’ set in a military cemetery in Surrey. It tells the story of ‘Mouse’ Forsyth who has haunted the grounds for a hundred years until one day he is seen.

He has also participated in an anthology of short stories ‘A Miracle of Deliverance’ telling the story of Dunkirk from the perspective of many different characters.

In October 2026, Patrick launches a new military historical fiction series called ‘The Devil’s Brigade’. It brings to explosive life the legendary origins of North America’s premier special operations unit.
