The Woman Who Saved the Children: A Biography of Eglantyne Jebb, Founder of Save the Children

14th April 2015 by Clare Mulley

The Woman Who Saved the Children (Oneworld Publications, 2009) explores the life of Eglantyne Jebb, the controversial founder of Save the Children who was not fond of individual children herself, once referring to them as ‘the little wretches’. The book won the Daily Mail Biographers’ Club prize and was praised by then Prime Minister Gordon Brown as ‘a truly brilliant book’. All royalties donated to Save the Children.
