The Girl from Cobb Street

The Girl from Cobb Street

The Girl from Cobb Street

14th April 2015 by Maureen Stenning

It is 1938 and Daisy Driscoll is struggling to make ends meet, working as a sales girl in a West End department store. Daisy has grown up in an orphanage on East London’s Cobb Street and never known the warmth of family life. When she meets Gerald Mortimer, a handsome cavalry subaltern in the Indian Army, it seems that her fortunes have changed. Finally, she has found someone to love of her very own. But when she follows Gerald to India, she discovers that he is not all he claims to be and, as Europe teeters on the brink of war, she finds herself treading a path of extreme danger.
