The Case of The Mad Doctor

The Case of The Mad Doctor

The Case of The Mad Doctor

25/02/2025 by Paula Lennon

Jamaica, 1772. Caribbean jewel, or a killer’s playground?

Who is the mad doctor of Edinburgh Castle?

1772, Jamaica. Islanders are disappearing without trace. Are they simply trying to start new lives in the colony under assumed names, or is something darker afoot? Several had taken out large life insurance policies before leaving England, and when word of the vanishings reaches Bristol, barrister’s clerk Isaiah Ollenu, a Black Briton, is thrown together with insurance agent Ruben Ashby and ordered to get to the bottom of the disappearances.

But, confronted by racism, vengeful spirits and untoward characters, the task may cost more than either man is willing to pay…

A gripping historical adventure based on the true story of Jamaica’s first serial killer.
