Songs from the Drowned Lands

Songs from the Drowned Lands

Songs from the Drowned Lands

14th April 2015 by Eileen Kernaghan

The second book in the Grey Isles sequence and a prequel to Journey to Aprilioth,  Songs from the Drowned Lands is a collection of  interwoven short stories  about  five very different individuals who face the imminent destruction of their land. The princess Thieras foresees the disaster in her dreams; Dhan the adventurer plans an escape by sea; Eirech the singer has given in to despair and wiles away the last days in debauchery. Siod’h,  a young priest-engineer, attempts to bind the Old Gods and save the Grey Isles, while the priestess Ainn,  knowing the end is  inevitable, still makes a valiant attempt  to hold back the waters. In “The Final Song”  the last inhabitants face the oncoming tide with fear and acceptance. Winner of an Aurora Award for best Canadian speculative novel.  (Adult)
